Mount Gay Port Cask Expression is a small-batch of rum from Mount Gay”s Master Blender Collection that has been made with a combination of column distilled rums that have been aged in tawny port casks for five years and double distilled pot still rums that have been matured in ex-American whiskey casks for 14 years and finished in tawny port casks for a further year. The result is a sweet, fruity rum with aromas of vanilla, caramel, almonds and dried fruit on the nose. The palate offers notes of cherries, raisins, sultanas, prunes, oaky spice and marzipan that linger in the finish.
